The African Wild Dog, or Painted Wolf, is a striking species on the brink. With increasing human encroachment on their habitat the population is dwindling, due to conflicts with farmers, accidental killings in snares and by vehicles, and infectious diseases spread by domestic dogs. It is thought that there are only about 1400 mature individuals remaining in the wild. 50% of profits from sales of prints of this piece will be donated to help save real African Wild Dogs in the wild.
